Position Overview
Dewberry is currently seeking an Environmental Planner to work out of our Parsippany, NJ office.
Responsibilities
Candidates will be asked to provide support to specific tasks including, but not limited to, the following:
- Developing and authoring environmental base line studies, impact statements, assessments, records of environmental consideration and mitigation action plans.
- Developing and nanaging a public involvement program to help assess and communicate potential environmental impacts of infrastructure projects.
- Tracking, monitoring and evaluating implementation of mitigation commitments.
- Resolving complex problems involving investigation and analysis into the effects of infrastructure projects on communites.
Qualifications
Required Skills & Required Experience:
- Environmental Planners must demonstrate prior experience evaluating baseline environmental conditions; predicting and analyzing the effects of proposed actions on the environment; identifying potential mitigation techniques and alternatives; and designing environmental studies and investigations.
- Environmental Planners must have previously served as the principal author for the production of at least one NEPA Environmental Assessment and FONSI prepared for a federal agency.
- Experience with NEPA, SEQR, CEQR, Section 106 is preferred.
Experience must encompass:
- At least 5 years similar work experience required.

Also, Prior to a final offer of employment, the selected candidate will be required to submit to a background screening which may include, but is not limited to, employment verification, educational and other credential verification, driving record check, criminal background check, and an investigative consumer report. These screenings will be conducted by Dewberry's background vendor of choice and will be conducted in compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local law.
