Position Overview

We are seeking candidates for a Strategy Internship with Greenpeace in Fall 2014, in Washington D.C.

The Strategy intern position will work directly with Greenpeace USA's Director of Strategy on a variety of research and analysis projects. The Director of Strategy supports annual and multi-year planning and new initiatives and partnerships, as well as a range of special projects for organizational priorities.

Tasks for previous interns have included doing research on the 2020 US Energy Landscape, analyzing financial reports to identify potential cost saving opportunities, and liaising with prospective vendors. 


Program Details
 

  • Our fall internships start September 8th and end December 5th. Part time and full time positions available.
  • Each intern is trained and closely supervised by a member of the department to which they've been assigned.
  • We are flexible with your schedule and can help you receive class credit. All internships are unpaid. Unfortunately Greenpeace cannot provide travel or housing.

Qualifications 

  • Applicants must be over 18, but do not have to be current students. 
  • We're looking for people with excellent verbal and written communications skills, strong online research skills, the ability to work well independently, commitment to non-violence as a means of affecting change and enthusiasm for protecting the environment.

  • Strong research and written communication skills 

Preferred: 

  • Basic knowledge of financial accounting
  • Ability to conduct numerical analysis in Excel
  • Skilled at conducting thorough desk research from a variety of sources
  • Knowledge of environmental challenges and solutions
