Position Overview:

Great opportunity for a full-time, entry level Civil/Environmental Engineer to join The Louis Berger Group, Inc. in our Morristown, New Jersey Office and become an integral member of our dynamic Restoration Design team. The successful candidate will grow into, and help us advance our ecological restoration practice. We are looking for a self-motivated individual with a solid foundation in engineering, strong technical writing skills, and the ability to integrate the principals of science and engineering to design successful restoration projects.

Responsibilities:

Anticipated responsibilities will include working on water resources engineering and ecological restoration projects, conducting field studies, perform surface and sub-surface hydraulic and hydrologic calculations, preparing permit documents, preparing engineering design plans, specifications, and cost estimates, and conducting construction oversight.

Qualifications:

  • This is an entry level position requiring 3 months to 2 years of related experience.
  • Candidate should possess excellent interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering from an accredited University is required.
  • EIT with the desire to become a PE is strongly recommended.
  • Competent in ESRI ArcGIS, AutoCAD Civil 3D/LDD and/or Micro station V8. The candidate should be familiar with grading and earthwork concepts.
  • Candidate should have sound knowledge of hydrologic concepts detailed in NRCS TR-55, TR-20. The candidate should be familiar with performing surface water hydrologic and hydraulic analyses using software like HEC-1, HEC-2, HEC-HMS, and HEC-RAS; and using Hydraflow Hydrographs and Storm Sewers stormwater management and conveyance system design.
  • Word and Excel proficient.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
