Minnesota State University Moorhead is currently seeking qualified candidates to fill the position of Sustainability Coordinator.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as an environmental awareness educator for the MSUM community.
  • Conduct a campus sustainability assessment identifying opportunities for continuous environmental improvement and implement programs to deliver the desired outcome.
  • Serve as an ex-officio member on the Sustainable Campus Initiative Committee (SCIC) providing coordination of the Green Fee distribution and leadership to committee members.
  • Provide resource material and information to faculty, staff, students, and consultants or others outside the university upon request.
  • Orchestrate on-campus conferences and workshops on sustainability to disseminate information and educate the campus and broader community.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree and 2 or more years of paid or unpaid experience in Environmental Science or a related field OR Master's Degree and 1 year of paid or unpaid experience in Environmental Science or a related field
  • Strong knowledge and skills in methods, practices and procedures related to sustainability.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative and professional manner in a university environment.
  • Excellent organizational, problem solving, and management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated grant writing experience.
  • Knowledge of applicable federal/state/local regulations pertaining to sustainability or environmental science.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with colleagues.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide community outreach.
  • Experience in supervision of student workers.
  • Demonstrated ability to use communication tools including social media.
