PACD is a non-profit organization that supports, enhances, and promotes Pennsylvania's Conservation Districts and their Programs.
The Pennsylvania Association of Conservation Districts, Inc. (PACD) works to enhance locally led efforts that support the wise use of the state's natural resources. The PACD primarily serves as the collective voice for Pennsylvania's 66 county conservation districts. Over the years the Association has played an integral part in shaping the modern conservation district by providing advocacy, education and training, program coordination and facilitation to districts and their constituents.
Position Overview:
As the Conservation Technician for the Pennsylvania Association of Conservation Districts (PACD) in the South-central Region, the incumbent will provide technical assistance to the Growing Greener program and the Natural Resource Conservation Service (NRCS).
Responsibilities:
This position will: Provide technical assistance to area partnership Growing Greener personnel and the NRCS in the planning, design and construction of engineering practices; Prepare designs of conservation practices and water quality best management practices, which are site specific and require coordination among various groups and individuals: and Provide engineering assistance in conducting preliminary investigations.
This position works closely with conservation districts, representatives of the state government, various county officials, NRCS, watershed organizations, and landowners.
Compensation: The Salary Range is: $30,000 per year
