Position Overview:
The position is to develop energy management and sustainability initiatives including water conservation for different operating units within the Group. Given the energy and water intensive nature of our textile and apparel operations, this is a senior position reporting directly to the CEO, responsible for measuring, calibrating and improving energy efficiency, fostering sustainable development and reducing carbon footprint.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the energy management function by developing and reviewing projects including energy auditing, energy modeling, renewable energy and energy efficiency.
- Work with internal and external parties to monitor carbon footprint and drive improvement projects along the vertical supply chain of the Group.
- Perform a variety of work involving development of technical guidance, design/planning of projects and programs and eliminating obstacles which could impede success of energy management initiatives.
- Use creativity and objectivity to perform studies and technical activities to assist operating units to develop cost effective and reliable technical solutions related to energy management.
- Outreach to educate and engage operating units in energy efficiency and sustainable development.
- Support procurement and construction phases of projects related to energy management.
- Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications:
- Graduate degree preferred in engineering, building services, energy management or environmental sciences.
- Over 10 years related experience.
- Spoken / written ability in Mandarin or Cantonese preferable.
- Project management and execution with quantifiable results.
- Experience in driving organizational change.
- Experience in large scale construction projects is a plus.
- Well-developed leadership, people management and communication skills, highly organized, result-oriented and capable of lateral thinking within different manufacturing operations and able to prioritize and delegate effectively.
- Based in Hong Kong or China with frequent travel to China and overseas operations.
