Responsibilities:
Owner of daily operating plan for steam plant including recovery boiler, evaporators, concentrators, fluidized bed boiler, gas fired power boiler and demineralizers.
- Provides operational and business leadership and technical support for steam plant at Wauna facility to meet safety, compliance, cost and productivity goals
- Troubleshoot and solve operational problems to achieve goals
- Lead operators through day-to-day cost and productivity issues. Focus on increasing efficiency and reducing waste and operating costs
- Support and influence the operators to meet safety, environmental, other compliance, productivity and cost goals. Help them in identifying gaps and plans for resolving
- Facilitate and coach operators to proactively troubleshoot opportunities using software enablers such as PTM, simple RCAs and RCMs
- Continuously improve steam plant operations by teaming with operators, production leader, AAL and gatekeeper to evaluate, prioritize, and process all asset Improvement Ideas after providing feedback and encouragement to the originators of the ideas. Coordinate plans for their resolution.
- Optimize and coordinate planning for scheduled shutdowns, operator training, and maintenance and capital projects
- Participate in and support Reliability Centered Maintenance, Asset Strategy Improvement, Precision Maintenance and Compliance related activities
Qualifications:
- BS engineering degree and a minimum of 3 years experience in management of a Pulp and Paper Utility area, or 7 years equivalent working experience in a Pulp and Paper Utility area including a minimum of 3 years experience in management
- Strong leadership and facilitator skills, proven understanding of Kraft process chemical recovery operations
- Proven interpersonal and technical troubleshooting skills
- Proven communication skills
- Team player and project management skills
