The Green Bay Botanical Garden is a major resource that contributes to the culture of the community and beyond. The Green Bay Botanical Gardens are under a program of continuous development and expansion.

It is an expectation that the Executive Director would bring proven entrepreneurial skills to direct and assist in all efforts related to the growth of the Garden activities, fund raising and awareness of this valuable resource.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the planning, implementation and evaluation of the organizations programs and services.
- Work with staff and the Board to prepare a comprehensive budget.
- The Botanical Garden has a strong working relationship with Northeast Wisconsin Technical College. The Executive Director will report on relevant Botanical Garden and College (NWTC) interactions.
- Establish effective working relationships with community groups, political leaders, contributors and other organizations to achieve the goals of the organization.
- Develop a strategic marketing plan that leads to expanding awareness, increased membership and increased fundraising abilities of the organization.
- Monitor the day-to-day delivery of the programs and services of the organization and provide visionary leadership to keep the recognition of the organization at the highest level.
- Provide human resource direction through compliance with policies, procedures and practices relevant to staff.
- Advocate for the organization as a pubic spokesperson to build the stockholder base and provide creative and innovative opportunities for the community at large to interact with the Botanical Garden.
- Conduct official correspondence on behalf of the Board and jointly with the Board when appropriate.
- Represent the organization at community activities to enhance the organizations community profile.
- Act as a professional advisor to the Board on all aspects of the organization's activities.
- Provide support to the Board by preparing meeting agendas and supporting materials.
- Identify and evaluate the risks to the organizations' people, property, finances and image and implement measures to control risk.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree (Master's preferred) in areas related to the successful leadership of non-profit organizations. Proof of progressive management and leadership of organizational development for a minimum of 5 years is essential. Experience considered in lieu of educational degree. Marketing and communication proficiency is a must.
- Interpersonal skills reflecting the ability to communicate with a broad spectrum of people and the development of community relationships.
- Demonstrated use of technologies including word processing, financial management software, e-mail, teleconferencing and the internet.
- Ability and experience to multi-task in a team based environment.
- Ability to provide the Board with comprehensive fiscal reports on revenues and expenditures of the organization that complies with legal financial regulations.
- Provide leadership to professional and voluntary staff that promotes a high degree of performance and productivity.
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends as needed.
- Exceptional knowledge and experience in marketing techniques, human resource management, financial management and project management.
- Horticulture, landscape and gardening experience is a plus.
- This position requires a passion to connect people and their interest in the "Green World" into their lives.
