Description
The U.S. Green Building Council, New York Chapter (USGBC-NY), a nonprofit organization working to advance sustainable buildings, currently has an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual who is interested in being part of the growing green building movement.
This full-time Summer Intern will be responsible for assisting in the development of an online virtual green building resource center, improvements to the USGBC-NY web site, as well as other research and writing projects. This person will also provide some administrative support to USGBC-NY staff, including assistance with calls and email traffic and other general administrative tasks. Candidates should have the ability to work well with a diverse staff and volunteers, take on special projects and work independently.
Specific Responsibilities Include:
* Propose and develop content for an online green building resource center
* Develop proposals for reorganizing and improving the USGBC-NY web site
* Research related to creating NYC green building "checklists"
* Draft articles for publication in GNEWS
* Handle general administrative tasks and special projects as needed
Qualifications/Skills:
* Bachelors degree preferred
* Understanding of green building and environmental issues
* Attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks
* Strong organizational and design skills; background in web design preferred
This is full-time summer position with a $3000 stipend.
