Natural Resource Supervisor - Full Time/Regular with benefits

The Marin Conservation Corps' mission is to develop the youth of Marin County by providing meaningful employment, education and training opportunities through projects that conserve natural resources, deliver human services and respond to public emergencies. 

General Duties and Responsibilities: 

Under the direction of the Natural Resource Coordinator, the Natural Resource Crew Supervisor (NRCS) is responsible for all aspects of supervision for a crew of 8-12 young adults. The NRCS will lead the crew in successfully completing natural resource projects, including habitat restoration, fire fuel reduction, creek maintenance and restoration and trail building. 

Corpsmember Supervision includes: 

Facilitating personal and professional development.
Providing training, including tool use, teamwork, leadership skills, work place communication.
Taking action to resolve inappropriate behavior and personnel issues. 

Natural Resource Project Management includes: 

Producing a level of productivity and quality that meets the expectations of MCC and the sponsor.
Documenting project accomplishments. 

Desired Qualifications: 

Two years of supervisory experience. Ideal candidates will have experience in youth development, project management and the implementation of natural resource projects. Two years of college education or vocational training in natural resource management, environmental studies, job training or counseling. 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Skills in supervising, training and educating young adults
Extensive knowledge of hand and power tools
Knowledge of conservation practices
Ability to do strenuous work in adverse weather conditions
Desire to work in a fast paced and diverse environment 

Licenses and Certificates: Employment is contingent upon the validation of a clean California driving record, drug screening, and physical in order to obtain a California Class 'B' license. Standard first aid and CPR training is required.
