Ormat Files $1 Billion Shelf Registration Statement

Geothermal energy company Ormat Technologies (NYSE: ORA) Inc. filed a universal shelf registration statement to sell up to $1 billion of securities – including common shares, debt securities, warrants and units of the company. The shelf registration statement has been filed with the SEC but has not yet become effective. Following the effectiveness of the shelf registration statement, Ormat Technologies may periodically offer one or more of the registered securities in amounts, at prices, and on terms to be announced when, and if, the securities are offered.


Ormat Technologies, Inc. is a vertically integrated company primarily engaged in the geothermal and recovered energy power business. The Company designs, develops, builds, owns and operates geothermal power plants. It also designs, develops and builds, and plans to own and operate, recovered energy-based power plants. Additionally, the Company designs, manufactures and sells geothermal and recovered energy power units and other power generating equipment, and provides related services. The Company’s products and systems are covered by more than 70 patents.
