- Build a broad, effective campaign including grassroots coalition building, public engagement and volunteerism, legislative advocacy, traditional and social media acquisition, and development of a self-sustaining and continuing foundation of support for Oceana’s organizational goals.
- Execute the campaign in conjunction with Oceana’s team of International professionals.
- Communicate with field staff, scientists, legislative and communications professionals, as well as Oceana’s volunteers, online activists, allies, and others.
- Report on progress of the campaign and lead the charge for overcoming obstacles to ensure goals and objectives are met.
BEYOND COAL CAMPAIGN REPRESENTATIVE, SIERRA CLUB, VIRGINIA BEACH, VIRGINIA (2017)
- Development and management of the Virginia Beyond Coal Campaign to expand clean energy, slow down the gas build out and transition coal communities to cleaner and healthier jobs.
- Engagement of key players in operating and regulating power plants and energy supply infrastructure, state elected and appointed decision makers, and partners to assure advancement of Sierra Club’s priorities.
- Direct media outreach activities related to the campaign in collaboration with State Chapters and Communications Department. Serve as Sierra Club spokesperson to media outlets and promotes volunteer media exposure.
MANAGER OF FIELD OPERATIONS, MOMS CLEAN AIR FORCE, VIRGINIA BEACH, VIRGINIA (2014-2016)
- Provide programmatic and strategic goal achievement oversight for Moms Clean Air Force team of over twenty people nationwide.
- Establish and implement appropriate strategies, contracts with employees, accountability and adaptive program management systems for our members, maintain program effectiveness, and ensure overall program focus.
- Schedule and organize the campaign, canvass, and phone-banking for all 2017 related campaign goals with Clean Air Moms Action (C4 entity of Moms Clean Air Force).
COMMUNITY COORDINATOR, NATURAL RESOURCES DEFENSE COUNCIL (NRDC), VIRGINIA BEACH, VA (12/2009-PRESENT)
- Plan and organize hearing and screening events, created agendas, secured locations, and speakers and hosts for NRDC’s film Acid Test and Ocean Frontiers II in the state of Virginia.
- Exceeded turnout goal of 100 people by double at the movie screening, including media coverage and political and community leaders from Senator Webb and Warner’s offices.
COMMUNITY COORDINATOR, GREEN FIRE LOCATIONS THROUGHOUT VA (12/2015-PRESENT)
- Plan and organize movie screening events for Green Fire’s film, Ocean Frontiers II, and a panel discussion to follow at locations throughout Virginia in February through July 2016.
- Exceeded turnout goal of 100 people at the movie screenings, including media coverage and political and community leaders.
CONSULTANT, VIRGINIA SAFE COASTLINE ORGANIZER, CHESAPEAKE CLIMATE ACTION NETWORK (CCAN), VIRGINIA BEACH, VIRGINIA (2013-2014)
- Coordinate, plan, and purchase items for over 100 meetings and events in the Hampton Roads region during an eight-month contract period.
- Facilitate and implement strategies to positively influence volunteers and key stakeholders to become involved with the CCAN Safe Coast Virginia campaign.
EVENTS COORDINATOR, CLIMATE ACTION CAMPAIGN (CAC), VIRGINIA (2013-2015)
- Execute successful events and crowd build plan to recruit attendees to events by working with local organizations to recruit within their networks, exceeding a goal of 100 attendees by almost double.
- Assist with the recruitment of speakers for events and compile materials and packets for meetings and events. Procurement of media coverage.
VIRGINIA REPRESENTATIVE, PEW ENVIRONMENT GROUP, VIRGINIA BEACH, VIRGINIA (2009-2013)
- Superseded all goals for campaigns. Recruit and activate over 3,000 grassroots and grasstops allies and supporters to contact legislators regarding public statements supporting clean energy, ending overfishing, reforming animal agriculture, conservation, and public lands.
- Coordinate over 500 meetings, conference calls, action alerts, and events with key influential political offices, groups, and organizations.
- Develop over 150 media hits implementing letters to the editor, opinion editorials, small events, and other tactics.
