Position Overview
We are seeking a Water Resource Engineer to work at our Cheshire, Connecticut office.
Responsibilities
- The engineer will be responsible for working on a wide range of water resource related projects that include stream and river restoration, flood control projects, fish passage structures, and dam removals.
Typical responsibilities include:
- Stream restoration design
- Conducting field surveys of streams, assessments, and developing restoration solutions
- Applying environmental models (i.e., HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, and others)
- Creating and compiling technical design specifications
- Developing technical drawings using AutoCAD
- Reviewing federal, state, and local regulations and preparing permit applications
- Preparing documents and reports
Qualifications
The qualified candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
- Three to 6 years of professionally relevant experience
- Demonstrated experience in stream restoration design, stream assessments, and flood control
- Experience with local, state, and federal permitting programs
- Proficient in the use of AutoCAD
- Experience conducting hydraulic and hydrologic modeling, including HEC-RAS
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to produce well-written reports and regulatory compliance documents
