Description
This is an AmeriCorps position at the Mountains to Sound Greenway Trust through the WA Service Corps (WSC). The Volunteer Program Outreach Associate will help run a large, active volunteer program and contribute to improvement of public lands along the I-90/Mountains to Sound Greenway.
Primary Responsibilities:
* Volunteer Program Outreach: send project information to media and local community groups and attend community events to raise awareness and recruit volunteers.
* Volunteer Recognition: print and mail thank-you cards, coordinate other gifts and opportunities for volunteers.
* Program Tracking: enter event summaries, volunteer service agreements and youth waivers for each event. Keep detailed personal work logs.
* Program Reporting: create detailed internal and external reports on project and program accomplishments.
* Mountain Works Summer Camp: help register youth, send out confirmation packets, answer questions.
* Other duties as assigned.
Field Work:
Be an education ambassador at volunteer events, helping motivate, appreciate and educate volunteers. Work in a team with MTSGT field staff at volunteer events including tree planting, restoring natural areas, and building trails.
Required Qualifications:
* Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail
* Self-motivated
* Experience working with volunteers
* Computer proficiency, including experience with Microsoft Excel and Word
* Excellent written and oral communication skills including public speaking experience
* Ability to plan and prioritize multiple tasks
* Must be between 18 and 25 years and a US Citizen.
