The DWM team has deep experience in investment banking and emerging markets investing, as well as a passionate interest shared with their clients in the social goals served by their transactions.
Position Overview:
Developing World Markets is seeking a dynamic Vice-President who will join a growing team of finance professionals with a strong social mission and an active deal flow of debt, equity and structured products.
The Vice-President will be the principal relationship manager for Eastern Europe, Russia and the Caucasus and will work closely with the management team and assist in the firm's investment banking and fund management activities. The position will be based in Darien, CT.
Responsibilities:
- Originate debt and equity transactions with issuers/borrowers, principally MFIs in the countries of Eastern Europe, Russia and the Caucasus;
- Assist in executing the firm's pioneering transactions;
- Perform due diligence, credit analysis and financial analysis;
- Prepare investment committee reports and present investments;
- Prepare transaction documents and memorandums;
- Monitor and supervise issuer/borrower compliance with covenants, track financial ratios, work out problems or potential problems;
- Research special projects and present results.
Requirements:
- Graduate degree with a financial or business related concentration; MBA or equivalent is preferred;
- At least three years experience in investment banking, corporate finance, and/or deal-oriented financial analysis, preferably in connection with emerging markets and/or international development;
- Strong ability to conduct financial and credit analysis;
- Proficiency in one or more foreign languages; fluency in Russian is highly desirable;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including advanced MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills;
- Strong organizational & time management skills;
- High motivation and attention to detail;
- Ability to learn quickly and to work both independently and as part of a team;
- Ability to represent the firm with potential and actual clients including travel, at times on his/her own, to developing countries to pursue leads and execute transactions;
- US citizen or permanent resident.
