Overview

We're looking for a goal-oriented and organized Sustainable Building Certification Manager to join our team. Our vision is a world where culture and ecology are in dynamic balance. Our mission is the rapid transformation of the built environment to a human-centric, carbon zero ecosystem.

The Role

Our ideal Consultant level candidate is skilled in the execution of LEED, WELL, Fitwel and Living Building Challenge green building rating systems. This certification expert has a crystal-clear understanding of the workflow, the tools and processes employed, and the defined deliverables. The position has a strong internal peer group and a culture of collaboration to tackle innovative design, emerging technologies, and complex project teams.

The growth opportunity of the role is working on a variety of high-performance building projects and deepening your technical subject matter mastery. The primary workload is certification management with an opportunity for a curious and eager learner to make strides in the areas of decarbonization, LCA analysis, health & wellness, and ESG strategies. The Consultant is actively peer coached in gaining alignment with client values to achieve the project vision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver green building design and construction consulting
  • Perform technical analyses and produce recommendations
  • Prepare high-quality certification deliverables
  • Manage the scope, schedule, and budget of multiple projects simultaneously
  • Assign and manage subtasks to contributing team members
  • Support business development efforts through client service and networking
  • Contribute thought leadership through blog posts, lunch-and-learns, & conference speaking 

Subject Matter Expertise

  • Vertical market types – office, hospitality, retail, industrial, multifamily, higher education, civic
  • Real estate development through the eyes of architects, developers, and corporate brands
  • Project experience across concept design through construction administration
  • LEED BD+C experience plus an additional LEED product
  • Rating system acumen in 2+ specialized types: WELL, Living Building Challenge, GRESB, etc.
  • Desired technical skills – OneClick LCA, EC3 tool; concept design and integration; net zero carbon strategies, Sketch-up / visualization; performance-driven EPD product selection

Qualifications & Experience

  • Must have U.S. employment authorization that does not require employer sponsorship.
  • A degree in architecture, engineering, building science or related field
  • LEED/WELL AP with a specialty designation
  • 6+ years of professional experience in building design, construction, operations
  • Successfully managed and prioritized 10+ projects simultaneously
  • Successfully managed workflow assignments up and down a team
  • Effective communication and presentation skills through structured messages and storylines
  • Clear accountability skills/protocols to manage others
