The Sustainability Compliance Specialist will play a key role in maintaining the integrity of our communications and programs. The individual will work closely with our sourcing and production teams, and with our supply chain to maintain our current sustainability initiatives and continue to push the boundaries of sustainability. They will gather material ingredients data, perform supplier social and environmental evaluations, document and facilitate 3rd party audits, and provide input into the future of sustainability at Humanscale.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate with suppliers through multiple tiers to gather sustainability data, such as material ingredients, water usage, and local biodiversity evaluations.
  • Maintain integrity of data gathered, including updating to reflect all changes within the supply.
  • Coordinate sustainability certification, including working with internal teams to meet the requirements, preparing documentation, facilitating the audit.
  • Perform supplier social and environmental risk assessments. In collaboration with the Supplier Quality team, ensure supplier social and environmental audits are completed.
  • Engage suppliers in pursuing Science Based Targets in alignment with Humanscale’s SBTi approved supplier engagement goal.

Qualifications

  • 5 years of experience
  • Bachelor’s (minimum) or Master’s (preferred) degree in a related field, such as Material Science
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Mandarin and Spanish a bonus.
  • Tenacity and creativity in motivating and soliciting responses from others
  • Ability to synthesize complex information, perform analysis, and prepare documentation
  • Strong capacity for systems thinking
  • Experience pursuing 3rd party audited standards, such as TRUE Zero Waste, BIFMA LEVEL®, Living Product Challenge, FSC, Design for Freedom, DECLARE/HPD or other
  • Passion for sustainable innovation

Compensation

  • Salary Range: $60,789.03-$88,667.34
