If you have a passion for the outdoors and an interest in restoring native habitats or improving sensitive ecosystems, we encourage you to apply.
As a staff member, you will support our diverse range of clients to improve human health and the environment by assisting with groundwater, surface water, and soil investigations; collecting baseline and post-restoration soil and vegetation data; and supporting wetland delineation and stormwater permitting projects.
Role Requirements:
- BS degree in rangeland ecology, plant biology, ecosystem science, or related science field
- 2+ years of relevant experience that includes species-level plant identification, collecting vegetation data using transect- or quadrat-based field protocols, identifying soil series, or completing stormwater inspections
- Ability to conduct fieldwork in challenging terrain, inclement weather, or for long days
- Experience driving in off-road conditions or using a four-wheel drive vehicle
- Clean driving record and a willingness to travel independently or as part of a team to remote locations or various project locations within the U.S.
- Efficient time management skills and flexibility in the face of quickly changing project schedules
- Technical writing skills and the ability to communicate effectively with clients, regulators, and project team
- Proficient in Microsoft SharePoint, Word, Excel, Office, and Teams
- A desire to support a positive safety culture through a dedication to safe work practices
Additionally:
Though not required, candidates with experience in western U.S. wetland delineations, habitat restoration projects, statistical analysis, GPS use, and GIS/CADD applications will have a jumpstart in the role. If you do not have this experience, Trihydro will support you in gaining this experience.
Workload expectations are approximately 70% fieldwork and 30% office work. Travel schedules associated with this position typically entail occasional overnight out-of-town stays, but you can expect to be home most weekends.
At Trihydro, our approach is to exceed our clients’ expectations through integrity and hard work. Our company culture is dedicated to nurturing employee growth, balancing work and family needs, and finding plenty of time for fun.
Some of the benefits of joining our team include:
- Comprehensive health insurance (medical, dental, vision, and prescription)
- A 401(k)-retirement plan to include a discretionary but minimum 6% match
- Paid time off that includes vacation, flextime, sick, and holiday pay
- Wellness program that reimburses gym membership or similar outdoor activities
- Staff mentoring and opportunities for professional advancement
