About the Co-op Program

The Ceres Co-op Program is a six-month opportunity designed to provide undergraduate students, graduate students, and individuals within six months after graduation with meaningful work experience in the nonprofit sector, focusing on sustainability issues.

Each participant is assigned a supervisor to provide direction, support, and mentorship throughout the program. This immersive co-op offers students an opportunity to gain professional work experience that furthers their education. Co-op participants will collaborate on projects and initiatives across various teams with programmatic impact at Ceres. Please note, individuals hired into this co-op will be assigned to a department within Ceres. Co-ops will be notified of their assigned program team prior to their start date.

This role is a temporary full-time hybrid position within commuting distance to Boston, MA. Candidates must be flexible to work with employees in all US time zones.

Please note: This is a 6-month full-time hybrid co-op based in Boston, MA that begins 01/13/2025 and ends 06/13/2025.

Responsibilities

Specific duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • Assist teams in planning, coordination, and execution of various projects, initiatives, and events.
  • Support data tracking, research, and analysis for various programmatic or organizational initiatives.
  • Draft communications including infographics, research briefs, presentations, and memos for internal and external audiences.
  • Provide scheduling support for internal and external stakeholder meetings including developing meetings agendas, coordinating meeting logistics, taking minutes, and ensuring appropriate follow-up.
  • Other projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Currently matriculated in an undergraduate or graduate program or within six (6) months after graduation.
  • Demonstrated interest in environmental or sustainability issues (ESG)
  • Strong administrative, organizational, communication, logistical, and time-management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative, prioritize, multitask, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills and effective presentation style.
  • Knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methods preferred.
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to comprehend, synthesize, and communicate complex sustainability issues.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), databases, and e-mail computer applications.

Compensation and Benefits

  • The hourly rate for all Co-Op positions is $18/hr. Please note, this position is not benefits eligible.
