Position Overview  

The Solar Project Manager is the responsible party for overseeing, coordinating, and successfully completing the construction of Hannah Solar's commercial solar arrays. The Solar PM is the senior on-site manager, overseeing and providing management direction for both direct employees and subcontractors.

The Solar PM reports to the VP of Construction and coordinates closely with Hannah staff for purchasing, deliveries, engineering design, safety, tool control, civil construction, environmental compliance, labor management & reporting, and commissioning. 

Responsibilities  

Essential Duties: 

  • Adhere to OSHA safety regulations. Ensure that all workers on a job site comply with all safety guidelines and regulations. In coordination with Construction Manager and Foremen, set the sequence and assignment of work to minimize exposure to job site safety risks (e.g. open trenches, hot electrical equipment).
  • Participate in pre-construction planning of projects including plan review and comments, staffing projections, project task sequencing.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication channels with office personnel, field crews, senior management and support staff.
  • Manage the build based on budget and project schedule.
  • Work to develop accurate construction schedule forecasts: maintain 1-week look-ahead schedule and attend weekly project meetings.
  • Responsible party for daily implementation of installation schedule.
  • Provide daily and weekly reports of construction progress
  • Ensure compliance with all job site regulations (e.g. safety, environmental, labor)
  • Ensure that standard operating procedures (SOP's) are implemented in a consistent manner, and that QA/QC procedures are followed by subcontractors and directly managed crews.
  • Coordinate for subcontractors and equipment rental as needed for each job.
  • Manage the project work force, implementing all company policies, and staffing so as to meeting project timeline and budget.
  • Translate and interpret construction schematics to actual installation.
  • Ensure NEC Code compliance of the installation.
  • Provide guidance and technical support to the Hannah personnel, temp labor and subs on issues concerning construction components/ applications.
  • Able to analyze project scenarios and implement site-specific design modifications.
  • Perform other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications  

Education & Certifications: 

  • Minimum 4 year bachelor degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Electrical license or training a plus.
  • OSHA 30 Training preferred.  

Experience & Skills: 

  • 3 years of construction supervision or fieldwork experience.
  • High degree of organization and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Previous solar experience a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing quality control/quality assurance processes.
  • Demonstrated Safe Working Practices and Knowledge of OSHA safety standards.
  • Success at managing and delivering construction projects on schedule and under budget.

Working Conditions: 

  • Work is outdoors, and may include work on commercial rooftops.
  • The majority of work is remote from the central office, requiring extended overnight stays. Expect 3 days on site(s) per week with office coordination days in between.
  • Most projects are located in Georgia, but as the company grows jobs will be located in other states as well.
