Position Overview

The Solar Project Manager will be responsible for managing the process for the interconnection of customer owned solar photovoltaic systems to the utility electric distribution system. On behalf of the utility, the Solar Project Manager will be the customer’s representative from initial request and application through planning, design, and installation of the utility point of interconnection.

We’re also fortunate to support wind farms and renewables; transmissions systems; and university and industrial facilities. 

What You'll Do

  • You’ll connect with customers. You’ll regularly communicate with the customer to establish and update interconnection parameters and required in service dates. You will keep the customer appraised of project status and requirements. 
  • You’ll keep projects on track. You’ll interface with the utility planning, design, work management, and construction teams to plan and monitor activities and milestones.
  • You’ll proactively facilitate resolution of barriers to meeting requirements and schedules.
  • You’ll provide regular reporting of project status and risks. 
  • You’ll keep things organized. You’ll be responsible for maintain project documentation and updating project status in utility applications. 

Who You Are 

  • You are a people person. While the ability to work independently is important, you are skilled at interfacing and collaborating effectively with the customer and utility stakeholders.
  • Your strong organization and communication skills will contribute to your success. 
  • Your qualifications and experience are impressive. You have direct experience working with customers and utilities on power delivery projects and understand the overall design and project delivery process. You have a bachelor’s degree in a related engineering or project management field. 
  • You are proficient with business and project management applications. Microsoft Office proficiency and an understanding of project scheduling and work management methods and procedures are a must.
