Position Overview

This position monitors solar field operations for California solar communities. Insure proper solar installations per the companies energy plans and specifications. Assist in solar training of builder division staff and trades. Troubleshoot field operation issues as needed.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Assist Director of operations in the management of 3-4 Solar Field Managers overseeing projects throughout California.
  • Assist Director of Operations in the management of Solar Installation Trades hired by our client for rough electrical and module installation throughout California.
  • Assist in managing solar field operations throughout Southern California.
  • Insure proper installation of solar systems by solar installers.
  • Insure proper safety measures and fall protection is in use by solar installers.
  • Insure proper roof and electrical preparation of homes by builder trades.
  • Assist solar installer and Regional Operations Manager with builder trade solar training.
  • Assist solar installer and builder field staff with solar installation scheduling.
  • As required, assist solar installer with solar plan submittals to AHJ.
  • Assist with solar sales training and periodically visit sales offices to answer questions from builder sales teams and check supply of solar collateral materials.
  • Periodically visit builder divisions and maintain open communication with division operations staff.
  • Troubleshoot solar issues in the field and resolve in the best interests of all parties.
  • Collect and copy signed off building inspection cards for rebate processing.
  • Utilize multiple homebuilder operating and scheduling systems concurrently including Hyphen BuildPro and Buzzsaw.
  • Assist with monitoring setup, system activation, and homeowner orientation as required.
  • 90% of time to be spent in the field.
  • Meet or exceed daily/weekly deadlines as projected by management.
  • Special projects as designated by Management.
  • Regular contact with division and field personnel and homeowners, furnishing or obtaining information, frequently where the matters discussed require resourcefulness, patience and clarity of thought and verbalization.

Qualifications

 

 

  • High school diploma minimum. Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years home building field experience or 5 years solar installation experience in residential solar preferred.
  • Nabcep Certification a plus.
  • Must have good Microsoft Office and organizational skills. Experience with project scheduling software a plus.
  • Must be able to provide written reports summarizing community status as required.
  • Must be able to manage field time and schedule for multiple communities in several geographic areas.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to multitask and resolve issues quickly.
  • Self-starter working with minimal supervision.
  • Must possess professional attitude to represent company in a positive manner and with a clean appearance.

 

 

Compensation: Base Salary based on experience will be between 85K and 90K. Exceptional Benefits: Medical, Dental and Vision, and 401K plus matching.
