Description
Heliotronics, Inc. is the leading developer of renewable energy educational display software. We acquire data from renewable energy systems and display it over the Internet and over LANs. Our systems are installed in schools, museums, universities and corporate lobbies.
We are looking for a highly motivated software specialist with a passionate sense of the importance of renewable energy and desire to accelerate its adoption.
Job Overview:
Ideally the candidate should be versatile and able to work in a variety of development environments. Areas in which we work include:
Visual BASIC, Visual Basic.net
LAMP: (Linux, Apache, MySQL, and PERL)
Among other things this position will require that you develop software in a style that will accommodate a growing team - e.g. good rev control, well documented source code and good documentation of lessons learned. You will need to teach the tech support team and, at times, provide tech support.
Job Qualifications:
The ideal candidate has a degree in physics or electrical engineering and 2 - 5 years experience in a professional software development environment. Math or computer science degrees are of interest as well. The selected candidate will have an appreciation for and aspiration to product design excellence and will be provided with mentoring to help fulfill that.
