EIRIS provides non-financial information and research to investors with environmental, social and governance concerns. In the last few years we have expanded the coverage available in our EIRIS Portfolio Manager (EPM) software product to more than 2,800 companies across the world. Our client base has also become increasingly global.

Our parent company is in London, UK, but since 2005 we have had a small permanent team in Boston MA to conduct research and build and maintain networks with American companies and the SRI community.

Position Overview: 

You will have good knowledge of the SRI world in the US, and have a range of SRI contacts. You will spend approximately 20% of your time on external activities including attending CSR conferences and meetings, networking, and contributing to other promotional work for EIRIS.  The remainder of your time will be spent analysing companies in allocated sectors, maintaining and developing various research areas, and generally ensuring the accuracy and quality of research delivered to our clients. Although the US team in managed from London, your job will include responsibility for the day to day running of the US office.

The post includes 4 weeks' initial training in London and 3 additional visits of 1 week's duration during the year.

Responsibilities: 

You will be responsible for assessing companies from across several sectors according to a range of social, governance and environment criteria.

Qualifications: 

You must be able to communicate and summarise complex material efficiently in writing. You will need to be accurate and efficient, and be familiar with the use of databases, spreadsheets and word processing packages. You will be able to analyse and manipulate data in bulk using Access, Excel or equivalent and to define new queries and lookups. A readiness to undertake routine repetitive tasks is also an essential requirement for the post. You will have a good level of numeracy and be a fast learner.

You will have excellent communication and presentation skills, and be adept at co-ordinating with others and delivering work on time.

An understanding of current ethical issues in the fields of corporate, social and environmental responsibility, and an idea of how American companies can address these issues in their corporate strategies, is essential. You will have a good understanding of and empathy with US business culture.

You should have US 3.6+ GPA (UK 2:1) in a relevant subject, and at least 2 years' experience of research or similar work on CSR issues. This should include researching CSR impacts or performance of either companies, industries, public authorities or other organisations.

Compensation: EIRIS USA offers UK-style terms and conditions, including flexible working hours, 25 days rising to 30 days' holiday per year, health insurance and a contribution of 11.5% of gross salary to your personal pension scheme, providing you contribute 3.5%
