Description

The Coalition for Clean Air (CCA) is an environmental non-profit organization dedicated to restoring clean, healthful to California.

Responsibilities:

* Organizational lead on at least one issue campaign.
* Work with Director and other community based organizations to identify campaign opportunities and to develop, implement, evaluate and refine campaign strategy.
* Participate in organizational planning to develop new projects to expand the fundraising and programmatic capabilities of the Coalition for Clean Air.
* Carry out grassroots organizing, media, and public education work on environmental campaigns that are the focus of the campaign team.
* Arrange forums to raise awareness about environmental policy and legislative issues.
* Assist in building a strong network of participants in state environmental decision making.
* Conduct face-to-face meetings with a range of stakeholders.
* Coordinate and participate in meetings with elected and appointed officials.
* Monitor agencies and legislative bodies, as appropriate, and provide testimony.
* Conduct media interviews and act as organization's spokesperson, as needed.
* Travel is required.

Skills/ Abilities: 

* At least 3 years experience with issue campaigns and/or direct advocacy.
* Experience working on CA environmental issues a plus.
* Experience working in coalition with grassroots/community organizations.
* Experience developing and winning issue campaigns with coalitions.
* Strong written and oral communication skills.
* Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred.
* Strong office computer skills.
* Commitment to the mission of the Coalition for Clean Air.
* Demonstrated abilities to take initiative and to work in a team environment.
* Staff management experience a plus.
