Description
We organize and lead sea kayak tours with a very strongly emphasized natural history curriculum. Programs range from 1 to 5 days long in the San Juan Islands, Washington, and expeditions of 6 days length in Baja California, Mexico and southeast Alaska.
Position is open until filled.

Qualifications: A degree in a natural science or currently enrolled in an academic program to obtain one. Strong leadership qualities in outdoor situations and ability to lead detailed discussions on marine natural history. Experience traveling on marine waters; camping and kayaking. Driver's license and clean record. Current CPR and minimum of standard first aid required. Must possess tent, suitable outdoor clothing, and other miscellaneous items.

Duties: Assist in all phases of field operations, including leading seakayak tours, transportation of gear, preparation of food and equipment, routine maintenance, etc. Summer program: approximately 4 days (40 hours) per week during peak season in July-August and part-time before/after. Positions begin either mid-May or late June depending on contract and end either early-September or mid-October. Winter program: January-April (optional).
Compensation: Salary dependent on qualifications; up to $650+ per week. Internship stipend up to $200 per week. Meals provided in the field only; no housing provided.
