Description

Passionate about sustainability?  Self-motivated and confident communicating with diverse groups of people?  Help "green" a Portland Community College campus by becoming a Resource Conservation Coordinator.

The Cascade and Sylvania Campus Resource Conservation Coordinators will work with the District Sustainability Coordinator, the Physical Plant, Green Team members, the Service-Learning Coordinators, student government, and the City of Portland BlueWorks program to: 

  • Continue the development and implementation of a waste prevention program as it relates to waste/recycling and paper/cup consumption (60%); 
  • Serve as a resource person for campus sustainability at PCC Sylvania & Cascade (20%); 
  • Assist the Sylvania or Roosevelt High School Learning Garden Committee in building and maintaining an organic vegetable garden (20%).

This AmeriCorps position starts September 13, 2007. Benefits include $1009/month stipend (before taxes), $4725 scholarship, health insurance, training opportunities, loan forbearance & childcare allowance.
