Save That Stuff, Inc. was founded in 1990. Our mission is to provide our clients with an environmentally sound alternative to traditional trash disposal. Save That Stuff, Inc. was recently presented with the 2007 Green Business Award by the City of Boston, and the 2006 Recycling Business Award from MassRecycle.
Position Description:
The Recycling Coordinator is responsible for expanding waste diversion opportunities for Save That Stuff's existing clients, and for finding new customers to work with. The coordinator makes site visits to existing Save That Stuff clients, reviews their current recycling program and adds additional services as needed. The coordinator will focus on signing up new clients using referrals, cold calls, and qualified leads provided by Save That Stuff staff.
Responsibilities:
§ Increase the number of businesses working with Save That Stuff
§ Educate STS clients on how to maximize waste diversion opportunities.
§ Expand the volume of recyclable material generated by STS clients.
§ Network with existing and potential clients via trade shows and association meetings.
§ Sign service agreements and process contract renewals.
Qualifications/Skills:
§ Motivation to educate Boston area businesses about recycling and composting.
§ Knowledge of local and state recycling guidelines
§ Excellent organizational skills, including follow-up
§ Ability to problem solve
§ Ability to write and communicate effectively
§ Ability to operate a computer as well as Microsoft Office Suite
§ Familiarity with Greater Boston area a plus
Summary: STS is looking for someone with a commitment to "making recycling work", and for someone that understands the business side of being an environmentalist. You need to be good with numbers and have your own car. Our office is in Charlestown.
Salary Range: Commensurate with experience. STS will offer a base salary and will pay a commission for new clients signed up. Health benefits are included and a monthly car allowance will be paid.
