The company's management team comprises experts from throughout the industry whose collective prior experience includes the development, financing, construction and operation of over $10 billion in wind and solar energy facilities now operating in the United States.

Position Overview

Apex is seeking a Project Manager to assist in the development and management of our growing portfolio of projects in the Southwestern United States (Nevada, Utah, Arizona and New Mexico).

The Project Manager will be directly responsible for overseeing the development activities of the projects that they are assigned. The position involves frequent travel and is located in Charlottesville, Virginia or in one of the four project states.

Responsibilities

  • Management of utility-scale renewable energy projects
  • Landowner lease negotiations in projects involving large numbers of landowners
  • Coordination of project interconnection process
  • Overseeing of project environmental and wildlife studies
  • Coordination of project budget, schedule and proforma
  • Support in the negotiation of power purchase and asset agreements
  • Implementation of local, state and federal permitting
  • Development of project marketing strategy
  • Overseeing of project consultants: environmental, engineering, transmission, etc.

Qualifications

  • Min. undergraduate degree (master's preferred) in development related field with a strong academic record
  • Energy development experience preferred
  • Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Microsoft Project
  • Proven track record in project management and contract negotiations
  • Familiarity with project financial models
  • Proven ability to multi-task and to work collaboratively within, and manage, multi-disciplinary teams
  • Frequent travel ~ 40-50% of time
  • Articulate and able to assist in management, client and public presentations
