Description

Cascadia Consulting Group, an environmental management consulting firm based in Seattle, Washington, is seeking a project assistant to support projects related to resource conservation, recycling and solid waste, watershed management, and sustainability.

This full-time, entry-level position will support the work of Cascadia's Policy & Planning and Research & Analysis practice areas. The job involves working as part of a team of professionals to research and analyze issues and to help advise public and private clients on resource conservation efforts.

Primary job responsibilities for this position include:

  • Performing research and analysis of environmental and socioeconomic data, including telephone interviews, literature reviews, field surveys, and internet research;
  • Conducting quantitative analyses, including development and use of spreadsheets and databases;
  • Assisting with writing and preparation of reports and presentations for public and private clients;
  • Supporting business development activities, including production of proposals for prospective clients and marketing materials; and
  • Conducting other project work and duties as assigned, including assistance with administrative tasks.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Show strong critical thinking and research skills, including talent for quantitative analysis;
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and effective interpersonal skills;
  • Have an undergraduate degree, preferably with coursework in quantitative methods (e.g., economics, mathematics) and/or environmental studies (e.g., ecology, environmental science/policy, geology);
  • Bring prior experience or an interest in resource conservation, recycling and solid waste, watershed management, or sustainability issues;
  • Be a highly motivated self-starter with energy, creativity, and a sense of humor;
  • Demonstrate an ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and thrive in a flexible, fast-paced work environment; and
  • Be a skilled user of Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, and other MS Office programs.

Expected annual salary range is in the high 20s to mid-30s, depending on experience; compensation is competitive within the environmental arena. For the right candidate, this position has opportunities for growth and progressively increasing project responsibility.
