Non-profit organization working on issues related to energy efficiency and China is seeking a part-time assistant (approx. 3 days a week) to help manage and grow the organization located in San Francisco.
About Us
The China-US Energy Alliance is a nonprofit organization dedicated to combating global climate change by promoting energy efficiency as the cleanest and least expensive energy resource in China. Through our powerful network of experts, officials and other key stakeholders, the Alliance pools financial and technical resources to help China design and implement large-scale energy efficiency incentive programs.
Position Overview
The Alliance is seeking someone to help manage and grow the organization. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is self-directed, creative, enthusiastic, trustworthy, and is interested in environment / energy issues and China.
The Alliance is a very small organization, with significant in-kind support for its projects. Therefore, the Program Assistant would work on a variety of matters including database management, correspondence, website maintenance, fundraising support, event organization, and general office tasks.
The office is located in the Financial District of SF, within a suite of a 10 person company.
Responsibilities: The Program Assistant will be involved in a wide range of activities, including:
- Management of administrative systems and database(s)
- Organization of mailings
- Assisting with website maintenance
- Event organization
- Arranging travel and meetings for visits by Chinese officials
- Assisting with drafting and editing correspondence, fundraising materials, newsletters and other materials;
- General office management
- Serving as contact person for Alliance information
Qualifications
- BA/BS or combination of equivalent experience and education
- Highly computer literate (including Microsoft Work, Excel, Powerpoint, and database applications)
- Strong verbal, writing and interpersonal skills
- Minimum 2 years experience in managing or coordinating projects or activities;
- Resourceful and self directed: demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize work, and coordinate multiple tasks
- Demonstrated problem-solving and organizational skills
- Web experience a plus
- Knowledge of Mandarin and Chinese culture a plus
