ENERGY STAR is a joint program of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy helping us all save money and protect the environment through energy efficient products and practices.

Position Overview: 

EPA's ENERGY STAR Commercial and Industrial Branch seeks an energetic individual to help design and implement creative approaches to improving energy efficiency in commercial and industrial buildings.  He or she would be responsible for a range of efforts to support this highly successful program that works with buildings in diverse sectors including commercial real estate, hospitality, retail, healthcare, education, and government. 

Responsibilities: 

  • development, implementation, and ongoing evaluation of a robust technical and non-technical training program for a wide variety of external public- and private-sector stakeholders;
  • analysis of program data/metrics and development and presentation of regular monthly, quarterly, and annual reports tracking program results and accomplishments;
  • and conducting data analysis and serving as the main point of contact for the Branch marketing and communications team for information and data needed to support a variety of their activities such as issuing press releases and campaign development.

Qualifications: 

The ideal candidate will have experience developing and implementing training programs (in particular distance-learning programs), preparing detailed reports documenting program or work performance, and performing basic analysis of large data sets using Excel or other tools. 

The ideal candidate will also have excellent organizational skills, be able to work independently as well as on teams, be able to communicate clearly both in writing and orally, and be able to work in a high-pressure environment often under tight deadlines.  This position is located in Washington, D.C.
