~ Gulf Restoration Network’s fellowship program offers opportunities to learn about the environmental nonprofit field while making an impact on critical issues in the Gulf South. ~

The Gulf of Mexico will continue to be a natural, economic and recreational resource that is central to the culture and heritage of five states and several nations. The people of the region will be stewards of this vital but imperiled treasure, and assume the responsibility of returning the Gulf to its former splendor. 

Position Overview

Fellows work in water policy, climate change, fossil fuel monitoring, clean energy and conservation. GRN hires four fellows annually.

Responsibilities

  • From wetland protection and pipeline safety to restoration project selection and climate justice, there's a large need around the Gulf to communicate complex topics simply.
  • Policy Engagement fellows will learn to craft and advance policy positions, engage local groups and leaders and speak publicly to advance advocacy campaigns.
  • They will create educational materials and provide policy advice, so decision making is based on the best available science and information.
