Climate Corps AmeriCorps (CCAC) is a bridge-to-career National Service program committed to addressing climate change in underserved communities. CCAC recruits AmeriCorps Fellows to implement projects related to water, energy, and waste reduction for municipalities and nonprofits across California.
AmeriCorps Fellows receive cutting-edge training and networking opportunities as they gain valuable professional experience in the sustainability field. Fellows service at their host organizations for a 10 month, full-time commitment equal to 1,700 hours.
Current Open Positions
East Bay:
Rising Sun (Outreach & Communications Fellow - 4 positions open) - Focus on supporting the organization's mission to empower individuals to achieve environmental and economic sustainability for themselves and their communities. Rising Sun has evolved into a leading green training, employment and residential efficiency organization and has been serving Northern CA communitities since 2000.
The Energy Coalition (Education Associate) - Focus on supporting and expanding the Out of School Time Energy Program (OSTEP) and broadening at-risk, after school programming with a special emphasis on partnership and resource development, youth-led initiatives and engaging hard-to-reach populations through climate initiatives.
The Watershed Project (Education & Volunteer Coordinator) - Focus on supporting the non-profit organization's mission by coordinating and teaching school-based environmental education programs as well as assisting with community-wide events, all with support from Program Managers.
South Bay:
Commute.org (Sustainable Transportation Associate) - Under the guidance of the Speical Project Manager, will placy a key role in the STAR project, a high-profile project that received approval and funding in July 2016. The fell will have the opportunity to inform, engage and support key employers and thousands of commuter in San Mateo County.
San Joaquin Valley:
California Vanpool Authority (Marketing & Outreach Fellow) - responsible for marketing CalVAns transit program by developing information campaigns, arranging and creating small to large outreach presentations, preparing marketing materials and utilizing social media.
