Description
Provides leadership, coordination, and professional management to the City of Springfield, through the activities of the Springfield Planning and Economic Development Department, in carrying out part of its mandate to protect the community's natural resources, primarily its wetlands (regulated by MA Wetland Protection Act, 310 CMR 10.00), and including its bio-diversity, unique natural areas and other water resources.
Work involves the responsibility for enforcement of the Massachusetts wetland laws (310 CMR 10.00) as they pertain to projects in Springfield, protection of the City's wetlands, Conservation Open Space Lands, other critical natural resources, land acquisition and protection of the environment. Work is performed under the general direction of the Chief Development Officer of the City of Springfield with review through reports and meetings with the Planning and Economic Development directors. Supervision may be exercised over maintenance and part-time intern or seasonal workers.
Must be willing to living in the City of Springfield to abide by the City's residency requirement. Salary up to $60,000 DOE. Full Benefits.
