Position Overview 

We're seeking a Media and Communications Intern in Washington D.C. for Fall 2014. 

Greenpeace's Communications Department is responsible for media relations for the organization, the creation of visuals (photo, video, design) and other communications, including opinion research and advertising. 

Responsibilities 

  • The Media and Communications Intern will primarily be responsible for conducting research to aid Greenpeace's Media Officers.
  • Interns will also conduct daily news scans, upgrade the media team's wiki pages, and assist with Greenpeace Radio production.
  • They will also support the Communications Director on a variety of projects, including the implementation of the organization's communications strategy. 

Qualifications 

  • Ability to work independently, prioritize workload, and multi-task along with excellent written and communication skills.
  • Past experience with research or with media is required.
  • Radio experience a plus.
  • Must have a commitment to non-violence as a means of affecting change and enthusiasm for protecting the environment.
  • Applicants must be over 18, but do not have to be current students. 

Program Details 

  • Our fall internships start September 8th and end December 5th. Part time and full time positions available.
  • Each intern is trained and closely supervised by a member of the department to which they've been assigned.
  • We are flexible with your schedule and can help you receive class credit.
  • All internships are unpaid.
  • Unfortunately Greenpeace cannot provide travel or housing.
