Position Overview:
TD Friends of the Environment Foundation (FEF) is one of TDBFG's flagship community programs. TD FEF supports local environmental projects in communities across Canada. As part of TD's overall commitment to become a North American industry leader in the environment, TD FEF is pursuing aggressive goals to grow both the profile and the donor base of the foundation.
This role reports to the Senior Manager of TD Friends of the Environment Foundation (FEF) and will support the continued growth of TD FEF within TD's overall environmental strategy. The position is primarily focused on leading national programs supported by TD FEF, including media relations for national initiatives, and managing TD FEF chapters in the GTA, Atlantic and Quebec. This position has one direct report.
Responsibilities:
? Manage and maintain the TD FEF website; this includes content creation, ongoing analysis of metrics to continuously improve the site and oversight of all processes related to merchant capabilities.
? Manage existing and develop new national programs for the foundation; this includes the $100,000 Go Green Challenge.
? Working closely with Corporate Communications colleagues, develop media relations and external and internal communications and other out reach strategies to increase the profile of TD FEF for national initiatives as well as in the supported region.
? Represent TD FEF and act as spokesperson at internal and external events and media interviews.
? Manage one direct report, set performance targets, assess results.
? Manage TD FEF chapters in Central Ontario, Quebec and Atlantic Canada:
- Develop, implement and measure results of a regional TD FEF business and communications plan, adapted from a centralized plan, for the region
- Develop and implement programs to integrate TD FEF activities into the region.
- Direct the day to day administration, operation, and budget of the TD FEF Chapters in the region via support from administration in Toronto.
- Develop and maintain working relationships with key regional community relations stakeholders, including local TD FEF Advisory Boards, community leaders, employees and community groups in supported regions to promote TD FEF.
- Review, recommend and process funding requests from Chapters within the region
- Recruit Advisory Board members and ensure service level commitments are met during all stages of the application process.
Qualifications:
- Exceptional written and oral communications skills;
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail;
- Ability to deliver high quality work under pressure and to juggle multiple priorities;
- Experience working with diverse stakeholders and a proven track record of strong relationship management skills;
- Demonstrated ability in dealing with media, including previous experience as a spokesperson;
- Knowledge of and experience with environmental and corporate social responsibility issues;
- A university degree in business, communications, public relations or related discipline.
- Media Training an asset.
- Ability to work effectively on various technical platforms;
- Ability to travel throughout Eastern Canada;
- Bilingualism is a definite asset.
