Position Overview:

The Manager, Finance & Control will be responsible for accurate and timely preparation of the Balance Sheet and P&L and subsequent reporting in accordance with US GAAP and local statutory reporting. This person will maintain and improve internal controls to ensure reliable reporting, acceptable business risk and SOX compliance, prepare budgeting and forecasting processes, manage the Finance department, and act as direct support to the Tradin US President.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsibility for the Balance Sheet and P&L
  • Account for the TUS
  • Monthly reporting to the Division HQ in Amsterdam based on US GAAP
  • Compliance with local tax laws and tax returns
  • Month end closing activity for the TUS
  • Supervise and guide the finance team
  • Review and analysis of the monthly / quarterly / yearly reporting
  • Preparation of budgets / forecasts
  • Compliance with SOX and internal procedures -Drive the annual external & internal audit
  • Communicate financial results to various levels within SunOpta / TOC
  • Cash management
  • Ad hoc projects to investigate and optimize efficiency to the current business/financial process

Requirements:

  • University / CPA degree in Finance & Accounting
  • 5-7 years of business experience in a finance function leading a group of people in an international setting
  • Good knowledge of US GAAP
  • Good knowledge of ERP/Accounting systems, as well as Microsoft Office products, including Excel,
  • Word, and PowerPoint -Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Good financial and business awareness
  • Strong written and verbal skills to communicate with all levels of the organization and its executive team
  • Strong quantitative and critical thinking skills
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Team player
