The Ontario Artisan Share program is Toronto's most exciting and unique food box program. The OAS provides Toronto families with sustainable, organic, natural and artisanal foods made with love and passion here in Ontario. If it is not produced in Ontario it will not be found in our food box.
The OAS box contains cheese, meat, fresh produce and pantry staples such as flour, jam, honey - all produced by fine artisans here in Ontario.
Position Overview:
The OAS program is looking for an upbeat, high energy, organized, self starter and team player to assist with weekly logistics planning and execution of the OAS program. The successful candidate will have superior work ethic, be a self starter and take initiative. All candidates are required to have a valid Ontario driver's license and access to a personal vehicle.
Duration: Aug 4 to October 21st, 2010
Hours: 14 to 18 hours per week
Responsibilities:
Duties and Responsibilities of the Program Coordinator include, but are not limited to:
Logistic Coordination:
- organize and coordinate packing of farm fresh food in boxes in the most efficient manor that is also the best method for freshness preservation
- bunch, tie and package various food items
- ensure quality control of produce and products
- ensure special orders are packed and clearly labeled
- inventory and asset management
- liaise with OAS program coordinator, staff and farmers / producers to ensure all parties have a good experience with the OAS box
Deliveries:
- load vehicle(s) for delivery
- deliver OAS boxes to various customer sites around the GTA
Other Duties:
- lead fellow team members in packing and distributing the OAS box (Wednesday evening and all day Thursday each week)
- accept deliveries, unpack inventory
- maintain clean warehouse
- other duties as required
Qualifications:
Skill Requirements:
- demonstrated self-starter
- demonstrated ability to multi-task
- demonstrated creative thinking ability
- demonstrated drive to create efficient processes
- excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills
- excellent organization and planning skills
Education Requirements:
- completed Food Handlers Permit valid in the city of Toronto
- standard First Aid certification
- possesses a valid Ontario driver's license
Special Requirements:
- ability to work on-site on Wednesday afternoon & evening and Thursday all day
- ability to stand for long periods is required
- ability to lift 20kg
- access to a personal vehicle
Compensation: TBD based on administrative experience and culinary skills.
