Position Overview
The International Living Future Institute (ILFI) seeks a national level
leader to join our team. The Director will lead the release and development of the
Living Product Challenge and oversee the Declare and JUST programs.
The Director
will work with manufacturers and non-profit partners to develop a comprehensive
series of education events and resource guides, involve manufacturers through a
robust annual Materials Festival and work directly with the CEO to develop the new
Living Product Challenge standard that defines how building materials should be
made. The position will also collaborate with our Senior Research
Director.
The International Living Future Institute has offices in Seattle,
Washington, Portland, Oregon and Vancouver, BC. This position can potentially
be located in another major US city where there is the capacity to build a
Living Product Challenge team and where new markets outside of the Pacific
Northwest can be reached.
The successful applicant will be expected to travel
frequently to represent the organization throughout the US and Canada. ILFI

Responsibilities
Description of
Duties:
- Work closely with the CEO and Executive Director
to develop the Living Product Challenge standard. - Lead the outreach to build momentum for the
program by engaging with manufacturers and partner organizations including
forming and leading a manufacturers coalition. - Oversee the development of education and
resource guides for the Living Product Challenge. - Work closely with the Declare Manager to grow
and expand the program. - Oversee and grow the JUST program through
engagement with diverse business interests. - Communicate and cross-pollinate with the ILFI
program staff working on the Living Building Challenge and Living Community
Challenge. - Represent ILFI at events and conferences and
be a major public face for the Living Product Challenge.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s required and Masters degree
preferred in a related field. - At least 15 years experience in the green building
field with a demonstrated emphasis and experience with Materials, Manufacturing,
or Building Science. - Excellent written communication skills.
- Exemplary public speaking experience.
- Demonstrated commitment to the ILFI mission.

- Multi-tasking skills, ability to jump from one
project to another. - Friendly, outgoing nature. An ability to go
with the flow in a fast paced, high-energy work environment. - Strong skills in Powerpoint, In-design and
other Mac based programs.
