The Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) is a non-profit national environmental advocacy organization with more than 1.2 million members and online activists. We have offices in New York, Washington, D.C., San Francisco and Los Angeles. Our staff of 275 includes attorneys, scientists, policy analysts and educators working to protect the environment and public health through advocacy and education.
Position Summary:
NRDC seeks to hire two litigation attorneys to work in the Washington, DC office. Each attorney will work on litigation, predominantly in federal court, addressing a variety of significant environmental problems, including water and air pollution, other public health harms, threats to natural resources, and environmental injustices. NRDC represents both its own members and a range of outside clients, including neighborhood associations, regional grassroots organizations, and environmental, labor, and public health groups.
Skills and Knowledge Requirements: JD is required. First position requires thee to five years of litigation experience. Second position requires seven to ten years of litigation experience. Exceptional legal writing and analytical skills are required
