Fred Phillips Consulting, LLC is an environmental consulting and design firm based in Ridgway, Colorado. We have been in practice for over 25 years. Our projects include multidisciplinary large-scale wetland/aquatic/riparian restoration, trail and park master planning, environmental permitting and compliance, wetland mitigation planning and design, landscape design and construction, and fund raising/eco-business development. We strive to accomplish sensible planning, restoration, and development of the natural landscapes of the United States and beyond.
Position Overview
We are looking for a mid-level Landscape Architect/Restoration Program Manager. This position is based in Ridgway, Colorado; remote work may be possible. For the last 26 years, Fred Phillips has been a leader in resource management, landscape design, and ecological restoration in the Southwest.

- Salary: 70-85K DOE
Responsibilities
This position will include (but not be limited to) the following duties:
- Assisting in a large-scale GIS riparian vegetation/restoration mapping
- Assisting in completing grants, restoration plans, and design documents
- Performing site analysis on restoration sites, including wetland delineation, vegetation surveys, and soil analysis
- Assisting with writing and editing technical work documents, including wetland delineations, ACOE 404 Permits environmental assessments, and permitting documents
- Completing ARC GIS/CADD mapping/design of large-scale restoration projects
- Developing perspective sketches, renderings, and details of designs
- Assisting with design details, research, and presentation graphics
- Assisting with day-to-day administration work
- Running field restoration crews in remote areas
Qualifications
- Must have a degree in Landscape Architecture, Environmental Engineering, or a similar field and some practical experience in the field. Must have strong graphic design and writing skills and be able to work independently.
- Must be proficient in Arc GIS, CADD, Adobe CS and Microsoft Office.
- Technical writing skills, working in challenging remote field conditions, outdoor guiding/field experience, landscape construction, and experience working with diverse cultures are preferred.
- This job includes 3 weeks paid vacation, 11 paid holidays (including personal day), stipend for health, two teeth cleanings a year and annual bonuses.
- Must have own reliable transportation and be willing to work some weekends during field season (May-Oct).
Note: FPC is looking for a 2 year commitment in regards to this position.
