Organically Grown Company (OGC), the Northwest’s largest independent distributor of fresh, organic produce, is hiring an IT Solutions Developer. OGC operates 24-7, and the IT department’s responsibility and energy is extraordinary.

As an IT Solutions Developer, you play the crucial role of collaboratively working with the IT Department to provide application software development services and technical support. Here’s what you’ll do:
- Code, test, debug, document, implement, stabilize, and maintain software applications in an environment of diverse development platforms, computing environments, software, hardware, technology, tools, etc.
- Develop and design solutions based on the requirements agreed upon with business/customer.
- Develop and execute unit, integration, and systems tests.
- Elicit & document business requirements.
- Understand, recommend, implement, and support changes to the enterprise technology systems that facilitate/improve business processes, technological stability, and future growth.
- Participate in code reviews and provide feedback.
- Recommend, support, and enable all architecture principles.
- Participate in real time project management with proactive input/feedback, reasonable but aggressive estimates and quality deliverables for all solutions.
- Frequently act as a project leader, “lead” or “senior” role over positions performing similar or related work.
- Test, implement, document, and maintain system components based on specifications.
- Support and provide guidance to coworkers on solutions development issues in a positive constructive and collaborative manner.
- Train coworkers on support and usage of technology solutions.
- Provide flexible and agile support to OGC business needs.
- May be assigned projects and/or other duties outside of normal job functions to meet the needs and demands of the business.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams for continuous solution improvement (time, scope, cost and quality).
Qualified candidates will have:
- Demonstrated skill in Application Development utilizing any standard enterprise development technologies.
- Previous experience as part of a development team(s), that worked together on medium to large Enterprise level projects.
- Previous experience and understanding of requirement specification, design, coding, structure, operation and testing of information systems.
- Experience with the Microsoft stack.
- Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, database management, integration, and report creation.
- Demonstrated proficiency with one or more technology environments, and the ability to learn and apply new and emerging concepts.
- Experience leading technical development projects of to completion.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Strong ability to systematically troubleshoot and resolve issues and communicate resolutions.
- Understanding of server technology.
- Understanding of network architecture and components.
- Ability to understand technical learning and training.
- Strong analysis and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Excellent customer service skills including listening and understanding the needs of the customer prior to acting.
- Manage multiple conflicting priorities, deal with ambiguity, and exemplify process management, while maintaining composure and exercising organizational agility.
- Ability to collaborate with team members across all levels of the organization to recommend.
- Identify and help deliver improvements in technology solutions to improve OGC’s triple bottom line
- Able to work independently and take initiative to identify and anticipate customer/business needs and make recommendations.
- Ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment, while remaining composed.
- Ability to analyze systems and processes from end to end, assessing how information/systems are managed and used from multiple perspectives.
- Ability to address complex cross-technology and cross platform issues.
It’s helpful if you bring:
- Previous experience supporting the work of an organization operating 24 x 7.
- Previous experience working with an organization with aspirational sustainability goals.
- Familiarity supporting wholesale distribution companies and warehouse environments.
- Previous experience on teams tasked with re-architecting the Enterprise technological environment.
- Previous experience working in the produce industry.
- Experience leveraging and/or developing reusable services and micro-services.
- Understands systems inter-relatedness and data dependencies across the enterprise.
- Familiarity with intermediate to advanced SQL as it relates to application development and systems integrations.
- Familiarity with automated deployment and automated testing.
Physical Requirements:
This position requires the ability to sit for long periods of time, hear and converse over the telephone and in person, key data efficiently and accurately frequently on a computer. Requires ability to accurately receive and disseminate information to maintain and enhance relationships. Ability to meet above description of position with or without reasonable accommodation.
Compensation:
- Salary is $80,000 - $90,000
