Green Building Rating Consultant

Allied Consultants, Inc. is an Austin-based firm which has for 20 years been a premier provider of technical and business professionals to clients in Texas. We are currently seeking an experienced Green Building rating Consultant to be a key resource on a technical services team.

Responsibilities:

Green Building Consultant Austin Energy Green Building (AEGB) seeks a consultant to provide green building rating services to our professional customers for approximately 6 months. Austin Energy Green Building uses our locally developed and maintained green building rating systems to evaluate the sustainability of new buildings and major remodels. Candidates should be able to provide 20 to 25 hours of work per week and will be assigned a portfolio of projects for which they will have primary responsibility.

Responsibilities:

• Act as primary point of contact between project design teams and contractors and AEGB
• Guide design team and contractor customers through the AEGB rating process
• Review construction documents to ensure compliance with AEGB ratings requirements
• Research and evaluate systems and products to ensure compliance with green building measures
• Provide recommendations to design teams to enhance the energy and resource efficiency of green rated projects
• Perform site visits to ensure compliance with AEGB rating requirements
• Communicate project status to supervisors and team members

Qualifications:

• Background in Architecture or Engineering
• Experience with, and a thorough understanding of, the Austin Energy Green Building Commercial Rating system
• Ability to work effectively with the AEGB on?line rating system
• Minimum of 5 years experience in the design, construction or evaluation of commercial green buildings
• Ability to effectively and comprehensively communicate green building requirements, interpretations and project status to design teams and contractors to ensure adherence to the highest green building standards possible
• Ability to perform all AEGB project/ratings management duties with minimum supervision
