Position Overview:

The Knowledge Leader is recognized as both an analyst and knowledge management expert.  They are responsible for providing in-depth analysis of the CleanTech sector, using a range of internal and external specialty tools and databases to support strategic decisions. 

This position supports the CleanTech community by leading and managing a variety of knowledge and analysis projects, including the design and delivery of products and services in response to customer needs.  Working in conjunction with the leadership and other community managers, the CleanTech Knowledge Leader also helps drive and contribute to the creation of white papers and thought leadership to differentiate EY in the marketplace.

The Knowledge Leader is also responsible for the execution of strategic knowledge management initiatives for the CleanTech community by working strategically with executive firm leadership in realizing the CleanTech sector's business vision/strategy from a knowledge perspective.  They are responsible for driving the implementation and deployment strategies of global knowledge priorities; and ensures that practitioners are aware of, have access to, and use the most globally consistent and relevant knowledge assets/tools available. 

Responsibilities:   

  • Produces detailed qualitative and/or quantitative analysis to fulfill both structured and unstructured requests to support the CleanTech sector. 
  • Develops in-depth knowledge of trends, events and major players and provides insight and recommendations through analysis of market factors, financial metrics and other data.  
  • Influences and leverages relationships with EY executive leadership to impact the CleanTech community and firmwide objectives
  • Possesses a deep knowledge and understanding of CleanTech issues and works in conjunction with the leadership to prepare insightful analyses on trends, as well as the implications of those trends for Ernst & Young or the client
  • Responsible for the execution of strategic and complex knowledge driven initiatives; provides deep analytic insight and understanding of the business, priority accounts and interconnections across business functions
  • Partners with the executive leadership, providing a big-picture perspective; responsible for advice regarding changes amongst key accounts and assessing the impact of those changes on internal strategies and plans.
  • Collaborates with coordinating partners and account teams to bring insight and perspective to priority engagements and builds strong relationships within priority accounts of the community
  • Participates in key strategic planning activities and major initiatives, including pursuits; helps leadership validate priority accounts, map issues to existing Ernst & Young services and identify new opportunities
  • Is recognized within Ernst & Young as a leader and subject matter expert in CleanTech issues
  • Implements strategically sound knowledge management and analytic methodologies; skilled in coaching less-experienced analysts on improving their skills
  • Acts as a role model within the business and communities and positively influences change by leading by example; champions knowledge-sharing behaviors: connecting people, encouraging enterprise-wide sharing, and appropriately leveraging and reusing existing collateral
  • Superior analysis capability
  • Develops and articulates a strong point of view across both the community and geographies
  • Confident in understanding multiple business drivers
  • Skilled in identifying trends that translate into key market-facing initiatives
  • Demonstrates ability to use both qualitative and quantitative methodologies including financial analysis skills
  • Leads multidisciplinary teams, often working virtually across service lines and geographies
  • Able to work with limited supervision; works well under pressure
  • Reviews the work of colleagues and mentors their skill development
  • May serve as counselor or manager for other analysts and specialists
  • Recognized as an expert in their sector/community
  • May require occasional travel

Qualifications: 

To qualify, candidates must have:

  • relevant tertiary education (e.g. Economics, Finance, Business Studies, Statistics, Law or related subjects) or equivalent work experience minimum 10 years experience in a corporate environment
  • experience leading a team of geographically dispersed professionals strongly preferred
  • experience with knowledge management tools and techniques
  • professional service industry experience or client serving experience
  • masters degree or postgraduate qualification an advantage
  • proficient in English - both written and verbal
