By advancing research, education and training, and outreach, UGA Marine Extension and Georgia Sea Grant promote the economic, cultural and environmental health of Georgia’s coast and prepare citizens to become good stewards of coastal ecosystems and watershed resources.

Internship Overview
University of Georgia's Marine Extension and Georgia Sea Grant offers year-long internships for recent college graduates in marine science education. Interns train and work for 50 weeks at the Marine Education Center and Aquarium on Skidaway Island, near Savannah, Georgia. Interns live on site in UGA housing.
- Marine education internships are offered to recent college graduates with a B.S. or B.A in Biology and coursework in marine science.
- The program serves as a bridge experience between college and professional positions and is designed for individuals who would like to gain teaching experience in environmental education.
