Position Overview
SEI is seeking a full charge Bookkeeper
(independent contractor) possessing very proficient bookkeeping skills and
experience, for approximately 8 hours per week, working on site with our current
bookkeeper. Somewhat flexible schedule
is preferred.
The
successful candidate will work in a support position with our current
bookkeeper, and be trained on our systems and procedures over the next year to
two years. This new bookkeeper will eventually take over as full charge
bookkeeper, eventually anticipating approximately 20 hours per week in our
office as of an as yet undetermined future date.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities
at the outset may include:
- Ongoing Expense Report Reconciliation and
Reimbursement - Reconcile bank accounts and credit card accounts
- Accounts Payable and Receivable
- Perform some payroll in Quickbooks
- Copying receipts for invoicing back up
- Other special projects, filing, miscellaneous
bookkeeping related tasks as needed - May assist with some or parts of the items
listed below
Responsibilities
to be added over time:
- Complex, detailed, customized monthly contract
invoicing - Be on tap to create budgets for various funding
proposals as needed - Maintain established detailed cash-flow forecast
and budget - Work closely and collaboratively with CPA on
annual 990 tax returns and Financial Review, and possible audit in the
future - Provide various analysis and views to CPA and/or
Executive Director of program and/or agency financial scenarios as needed - Perform payroll utilizing Quickbooks payroll for
approximately 20 regular and 40 seasonal employees - Maintain General Ledger
- Federal and State payroll and other compliance
items - Any and all bookkeeping related items needed by
the company
Qualifications
- At least 5+ years bookkeeping experience utilizing
a proficient working knowledge of Quickbooks for Mac - Accounting degree preferred
- Advanced working knowledge of Excel,
specifically including complex formulas - Proficient knowledge of Word
- Proficient in Filemaker Pro
- Experience working with a non-profit
organization mandatory - Friendly and cooperative work style
- Must love Macs
