KAUFMANN MERCANTILE, Los Angeles (Nationwide), CA (Nationwide)
You all know the frustration of buying a product which falls apart soon after you start using it. It is money spent pointlessly. Many big brands no longer live up to the standards we expect. And only a small amount of the dollars we pay, actually go into material, design and manufacturing.
It is also more and more difficult to discern a company's environmental and ethical credibility. Brands may hype their newfound "green" philosophies, but these often feel like a calculated response to marketing trends. If they care now, why didn't they care before?
Finding a good product can be a difficult process, but it's worth it. There are companies that manufacture with a passion that has been passed down for generations. Others have only recently started, but strive to embrace true craftsmanship.
We want to write about everything that will help you find these products.
