Scope of Responsibility:
The Finance Manager is responsible for ensuring good financial management of the organization. The Finance Manager works regularly with the Executive Director, Board and RAN staff to plan, establish priorities and evaluate conditions and trends in the organization. The Manager is responsible for all accounting functions of the organization including payroll, cash management, budget preparation, financial analysis, GL, AP, AR, cash flow, regulatory financial reporting, restricted grants and contract management. The Manager is responsible for providing regular status reports to RAN staff and Board and is expected to provide advice and leadership in the management of the organization. The Finance Manager works in coordination with a full-time Accounts Payable position. This position is three-quarters time with a flexible schedule.
Specific Duties Include:
? Manages budget preparation.
? Performs financial analysis.
? Production of current financial statements.
? Ensures proper accounting for all restricted funds such as grants, endowments and planned gifts.
? Implement procedures to ensure internal financial controls.
? Monthly and Quarterly Report Writing.
? Assist staff with financial procedures and planning.
? Work regularly with Treasurer of the Board, Executive Director and Budget Managers.
? Report quarterly to Board of Directors on financial condition and outlook.
? General Ledger including prepaid expenses, recurring journal entries deferred income etc.
? Facilitates annual audit: contracts and assists auditors with annual and specific audits, preparing schedules as needed, as well as, annual tax reporting.
? Cash management.
Organizational Responsibilities:
? Participate in RAN’s organizational planning and training sessions;
? Participate in weekly RAN staff and department meetings;
? Share office responsibilities to maintain a healthy and safe workplace;
? Contribute to Campaign success as appropriate during external activities.

Education: Bachelor (BA, BS, etc.)
Languages: English
Additional Qualifications:
? Computer literate, specifically with accounting and spreadsheet applications. Must know or be able to learn Great Plains and Frx accounting software quickly.
? Knowledge of non-profit fund accounting and grant procedures a plus.
? Strong commitment to details and precise reporting.
? Must be self-sufficient and have the ability to take on projects with minimal supervision.
? Management background helpful.
? Good writing and organizational skills.
? BA in Accounting/Business an asset.
? 3 years of accounting experience preferred.
