Description
Denver-based Center for Native Ecosystems is seeking a highly motivated and personable executive director with superb managerial skills and a flair for successful nonprofit fundraising to help take our organization to the next level. Through science-based advocacy, Center for Native Ecosystems works to prevent extinction and promote recovery of native species across the Greater Southern Rockies.
The executive director will be responsible for maintaining relationships with existing funders, identifying and securing new foundation giving, growing our membership and major donor programs, developing and ensuring the success of special events, and overseeing our overall long-term health. The executive director will also be responsible for building a proactive, engaged board; supervising development and program staff; providing strategic input on campaigns; guiding the organization’s long-term vision and direction; representing Center for Native Ecosystems in local coalitions; and overseeing overall functioning of the office.
Successful candidates must have demonstrated leadership and fundraising ability. Candidates must fully embrace our mission and values and effectively promote our work with the public. We are a small and energetic office with a strong track record of conservation success. We hold a soft spot for the underdog – the uncharismatic plants and animals threatened with extinction – as well as larger-scale ecosystem recovery. In addition, we pay careful attention to the political framework in which we work toward long-term conservation gains that the public supports.
Salary will be between $50,000 - $55,000, commensurate with experience. We also offer a competitive benefits package including group health insurance, paid time off, sabbatical, and bus/rail pass.
To Apply:
Please email or fax your resume, a writing sample, three references, and a cover letter of application by February 15th. ATT: Executive Director Search Committee.
